Dermalogica Melanopro

Hyperpigmentation is a top skin concern for many clients. There are several types of hyperpigmentation, with the common ones being melasma, sun spots, and postinflammatory hyperpigmentation. An excess of melanin pigment and irregular distribution can be caused by UV, hormones, inflammation, stress and even pollution.

Melanopro Peel System, launching exclusively in Dermalogica Skin Clinics from 1st March is a clinical-strength peel programme that delivers visible results in less than 6 weeks. This transformative 2-phase system works to visibly counteract environmental skin damage – fading dark spots, reducing the appearance of hyperpigmentation, and smoothing skin’s texture to reveal fresh, brighter skin.

Simple, effective, and clinically proven, the Melanopro Peel System combines an in treatment room phase 1 - professional application of a peeling masque by the skin therapist, and followed by phase 2 - a clinical strength at-home routine that incorporates a resurfacing cream and calming mist.

Day One Peeling Masque, is applied by a Dermalogica professional skin therapist and left on the skin for 2-7 hours before being removed at home by the client following the skin therapist’s instructions. This kickstarts an intense exfoliation and starts to fade the appearance of hyperpigmentation.

Implementation of the at-home programme commences with the introduction of Continuous Resurfacing Cream and continued for up to 6 weeks. This daily peeling cream contains: 10% azaleic acid, combined with tranexamic acid, glycolic acid, lactic acid, retinol, hexylresorcinol, niacinamide and a brightening peptide Acetyl Hexapeptide-1. This is to be applied 2 – 3 x daily, following the instructions of a professional skin therapist to stimulate continuous exfoliation, brighten skin, smooth texture and reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation.

To soothe, support and hydrate skin UltraCalming Mist eases redness and sensitivity and can be used as often as needed throughout 6 weeks. The light weight mist contains oats, aloe and a range of anti-inflammatory botanicals to relieve tight skin and strengthen the skin barrier.

Melanopro Peel System uses a blend of powerful ingredients including azelaic acid, glycolic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid, retinol, and niacinamide to fight stubborn hyperpigmentation that will then visibly fade or disappear altogether post-treatment.

“Until now, the quest for effective and safe hyperpigmentation solutions, particularly for individuals with darker skin tones, has been challenging” says Louis Chabert, Sr. Director, Global Service Innovation. “Melanopro is a groundbreaking treatment, capable of safely reducing hyperpigmentation across all skin tones in less than six weeks. We are proud in providing skin professionals with an exclusive solution for addressing melasma, dark spots, and various hyperpigmentation concerns; and elevate the results they can offer to their patients and clients.”

The system can be used alone, or as part of a treatment plan that may include other skin technologies such as lasers, IPL, microneedling, and dermaplaning. To find out more about possible treatment pairings, please consult the Dermalogica Pro sales and education team.

MelanoPro Peel System will be available exclusively to authorised Dermalogica spas, salons and skin centers and retail stores from March 2024.
