Conwy’s The Quay Hotel & Spa Announces Opening of New Spa

North Wales’ popular 4 star The Quay Hotel & Spa, located in the prestigious Deganwy Marina in Conwy, reveals a first look at its new 580 sq meter destination spa, inspired by the waterside location of the Conwy Estuary and the finest Welsh hospitality. Understanding many visitors may be staying at the hotel whilst exploring the local areas of outstanding natural beauty, including the national park of Snowdonia and Isle of Anglesey, the spa and facilities are designed to relax and soothe sore muscles and bring a slower paced feel, complementary to the locality.

Following a £1 million renovation, the new spa at The Quay Hotel & Spa opens its doors to welcome locals and visitors from afar to truly indulge in the peaceful and romantic environment of the North Wales coast. Working with Dale Sauna and Pro Build, the spa comprises a relaxing wellness thermal area, centred around a large swimming pool and adjoining vitality pool, which is surrounded by comfortable day beds and heated seats for guests to lounge on throughout the day. The lighting in the pool area is low and blue toned, reminding guests just how close they are to the natural world and surrounding water.

The wellness suite is made up of a Himalayan salt sauna, infrared sauna - where the radiant heat will detoxify, penetrate deeply into muscles and enhance wellbeing - and an aromatic steam room promoting respiratory health, as well as a traditional sauna where the dry heat melts away tension. Wet facilities include a large experience shower, and expansive foot bath area where guests can gently soothe tired feet after roaming the beautiful national parks and nearby towns of Llandudno and Conwy.

Accompanying the spa upstairs, is the new spa café, where guests can relax in their robes and enjoy healthy delicious and nutritious dishes, traditional Welsh afternoon teas and beverages from a private, relaxing environment. There are also eight new treatment rooms, where guests can enjoy indulgent face and body treatments from OSKIA, which manufactures its products in the rolling hills of Wales. Guests are also encouraged to unwind pre and post treatment in the beautiful relaxation room, located right next door to the café, which offers a tranquil environment with rose hued twinkling lights and comfortable seating. The spa is working with cloud based software provider Trybe as its booking system for treatment and spa use.

Stephanie Parry, who has previously held Spa Manager roles at The Spa at Carden, Champneys and Macdonald Hotels, has undertaken the role of Deputy General Manager at the Quay Hotel and Spa. With her previous experience in spa, Stephanie brings a wealth of knowledge on spa management and guest hospitality, heading up a team of 15 therapists.

With the new spa, the hotel has been able to recruit a further two leisure staff members as well as taking on two spa apprentices, a side of the business the team are keen to work on to give young, local people the opportunity to grow their career in hospitality and spa.

Announcing the launch of the new spa, The Quay Hotel & Spa’s General Manager, Brid Adams, says: ‘The Quay Hotel & Spa, has long been a cherished destination to all visiting North Wales. Its breathtaking views of Conwy Castle and the serene estuary never fail to captivate visitors. Guests interested in overnight spa break experiences will be treated to stay in a large, comfortable room, many of which drink in the beautiful and majestic views of Conwy Castle and Conwy Morfa beach located the other side of the estuary. In the evenings, guests are invited to enjoy some sun downer drinks at The Cove Bar, where its outdoor waterside terrace regularly enjoys breathtaking sunsets, as well as the refreshing sea air. Inside, the Ebb & Flow restaurant offers the finest contemporary dishes created by accomplished chefs, using locally sourced ingredients including fresh seafood.
