UK’s First Floating Sauna Set to Open in Liverpool
Liverpool is about to welcome the UK’s first floating sauna, an exciting new addition to the city's wellness offerings. Set to open in November 2024, the floating sauna will be located on a pontoon at Princes Dock, part of the Liverpool Waters development. This project is being spearheaded by WYLD Sauna, a company founded by outdoor swimming and sauna enthusiasts who have taken inspiration from the growing popularity of floating saunas in Scandinavia.
The floating sauna will feature a 30-person capacity, complete with ice baths, cold waterfall showers, heated outdoor showers, and outdoor seating. Visitors will have direct access to the dock's water for an invigorating hot-and-cold contrast therapy, known for its health benefits, including enhanced circulation, muscle recovery, and mental relaxation. The sauna will be available on a pay-as-you-go basis, starting from £5 per hour, making it an accessible wellness experience for locals and tourists alike.
This floating sauna is set to complement the existing water-based activities at Princes Dock, which already hosts open water swimming, canoeing, and other leisure activities. The introduction of the sauna is expected to create a unique health and social hub for the city, adding to the appeal of Liverpool’s waterfront.
WYLD Sauna Liverpool is due to open in November 2024.
