Caroline Hirons has announced the ‘Back Beauty’ campaign which encourages the public to support the Beauty industry by booking future appointments, buying gift vouchers and buying your normal skincare routine from them via online or telephone sales.

Launched Monday 16th November 2020, the Back Beauty campaign seeks to help the industry stay afloat following a second hit to their income. This is after the first lockdown saw the entire Beauty industry, worth £28 billion to the UK economy, shut down while the country got to grips with Covid-19.

We’re now in another lockdown during what is traditionally the busiest period of the year for Beauty. November and December are usually fully booked, with The British Beauty Council estimating about a third of a business’ annual turnover is taken in the last 3 months of the year. Back Beauty shows us the very real and practical ways in which we can keep the industry going so they can reopen their doors post-lockdown.

This follows the hugely successful ‘Beauty Backed’ campaign which launched on 3rd August 2020, spearheaded by Caroline Hirons, globally qualified aesthetician and bestselling author, Lesley Blair, Chair of BABTAC & CIBTAC and Millie Kendall MBE, retail maven and co-founder of The British Beauty Council.

To date, Beauty Backed has raised nearly £600,000 for the Hair & Beauty Charity, an organisation that has supported people and their families in their hours of need since 1836. The petition on change.org inspired just shy of 30,000 signatures to accompany a letter to Boris Johnson that made the case to bring Beauty back. A push that helped support the work of the British Beauty Council and BABTAC to ensure the frontline Beauty industry reopened on 18th August 2020.

How can we help and Back Beauty?

Book future appointments with your local Beauty professionals. Give them a diary full of income to look forward to. And you something to look forward to, too.

Buy gift vouchers from them for friends and family this Christmas. Or for yourself to redeem and enjoy next year.

Buy your normal skincare routine from them via online or telephone sales.

Knowing they have appointments to look forward to will make all the difference to their wellbeing and their financial survival.

Caroline Hirons has shared her thoughts on why she has started the movement, “We want the Beauty industry to survive this second hit to their income. They need our help to stay afloat while they once again cannot work and to be able to reopen when this second lockdown is over.

Let’s protect the Beauty Industry we all know and love. Let’s continue to Back Beauty.”
