Major news: Covergirl has just become the biggest brand to be leaping bunny certified by Cruelty Free International which means they're Cruelty Free across all their products, everywhere they're sold.

The Leaping Bunny certification from Cruelty Free International is an internationally-recognized certification for cosmetics, personal care and household product brands which are not tested on animals. Covergirl products have not been tested on animals, either by them or their suppliers—it’s the toughest standard in the world. To get certified, they underwent a rigorous independent audit of their global supply chain from start to finish, ensuring that all of our products are free from animal testing.

In addition to passing the “rigorous process,” the drugstore beauty brand will also have to undergo ongoing checks to ensure it is maintaining cruelty-free production.

Coty; the parent company of covergirl, also expressed its commitment to making “at least one more of its brands” certified with the Leaping Bunny by 2020, as well as a partnership with CFI to “end animal testing for cosmetics globally.”

The CoverGirl products featuring the logo are expected to be available later this year - but all products currently available are already part of the initiative.
