Glow Up to Return for a Fifth Season in Partnership with Sephora

 

Glow Up, the world’s foremost make-up television show is returning back to our screens for a fifth series. The first episode launches on Tuesday 2nd May 2023 and will be coming soon to Netflix internationally. This year's series has worked with global beauty giant Sephora to set the industry assignment for episode 2, which will air on Wednesday 10th May 2023.

Long-standing judges of the show and renowned industry artists Val Garland and Dominic Skinner were joined by guest judges Arieta Mujay, Sephora’s UK Brand Director and Patrik Ta, celebrity artist and founder of eponymous makeup brand Patrick Ta. Hosted by Leomie Anderson, the aspiring makeup artists were set a challenge which encapsulated Sephora’s on-going UK launch campaign: Express All Of You.

They worked hard to understand what look the model wanted and the judges were really pleased with the results. The Express All Of You campaign celebrates the UK’s rich tapestry of cultures and identities, it explored the playful, rebellious and often chameonic approach to beauty that is quintessentially British. To welcome Sephora’s first UK store, Sephora is bringing back the recognised campaign with a twist, putting the people at the heart of it firmly in the spotlight. In this second iteration, they’re going hyper-local and personal, challenging the store’s brand new Beauty Advisors, staff and customers to unleash their beauty power for Express All of You, the sequel. 

For the set challenge, each aspiring MUA contestant had a Sephora UK customer in their chair. They were specifically selected by Sephora for having a strong connection to the brand and for having their own unique beauty story. After each MUA had spent time understanding their person and how they identify, they were set the challenge of creating one look to capture that feeling as well as the Sephora UK brand. The room was filled with bold, playful and celebratory looks to empower the person in the chair. 

After each look had been photographed, the winning MUA will then go on to create two more looks to be finalised and photographed at a later date. These portraits will sit as part of the wider Express All of You tapestry and be a strong feature within the social campaign to amplify the new Sephora store launch.
