The Cairndale Hotel Appoints New Spa Manager
With work now underway on the impressive £2 million spa development at The Cairndale Hotel in Dumfries, the independently-owned venue has appointed new Spa Manager, Claire Primrose. With a decade of experience in the wellness and hospitality industry, Claire brings with her a proven track record of success to help establish The Cairndale Hotel as a leading destination for spa goers in the south of Scotland.
Qualified Beauty Therapist, Claire, joins from Apex Hotels where she was Spa Manager for Edinburgh-based Yu Spa. Prior to that, she held the role of Spa Treatments Manager at Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa and completed 7 years at sea with One Spa World where she worked through the roles of therapist, Spa Manager, Sales and Revenue Supervisor and Quality Assurance. She started out her career in Jersey as a Spa Therapist at Spa Sirene, The Royal Yacht Hotel after qualifying at the Mary Reid International Spa Academy in Edinburgh.
Claire’s expertise aligns with the hotel's dedication to delivering exceptional service and she will play a vital role in recruiting and training 15 new staff, confirming spa partners, creating treatment menus and setting service standards. Working alongside Director, Matthew Wallace, Claire is focused on ensuring that the new Spa at The Cairndale becomes a sought-after destination for relaxation and self-care.
Director, Matthew Wallace Jnr, said: "We are thrilled to welcome Claire to our team as we embark on this exciting new development for The Cairndale Hotel and the Dumfries region. Her passion for wellness, coupled with her extensive industry knowledge, will undoubtedly elevate the spa experience for our guests, aligning perfectly with our commitment to excellent service with traditional hospitality."
Work got underway on the new spa in early January, with the doors set to open to the public in late Spring. The £2 million renovation – which includes £400,000 of support from South of Scotland Enterprise (SOSE), will see the creation of a luxury spa for day guests, overnight visitors and those seeking a wellness retreat – making it the natural choice for spa-goers in the south of Scotland.
