Tropic Skincare Marks International Day of Education by Funding 6 Million Days of Education

In a world where 65 million primary-aged children are denied the fundamental right to education, Tropic Skincare is making significant strides towards change. Commemorating the International Day of Education on January 24th, Tropic Skincare has proudly announced updated details of its impactful partnership with United World Schools (UWS), showcasing a robust commitment to transforming the lives of thousands of children globally.

Since initiating the partnership in September 2019, the collaboration between Tropic Skincare and its dedicated customers has yielded remarkable achievements. A staggering 6,237,932 days of education have been funded, directly contributing to the enlightenment and empowerment of young minds. Furthermore, this alliance has been instrumental in constructing three UWS schools in remote yet culturally rich locations: Ta Lart Thmey in Cambodia, Madamsingh in Nepal, and Ampandrivotse in Madagascar. These institutions stand not just as buildings, but as beacons of hope and progress.

The partnership's accomplishments extend beyond infrastructure. An impressive number of 6,700 children have received five years of primary education, while 335 teachers have been equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to guide these young learners. Moreover, the initiative has taken notable strides in supporting gender equality and empowerment. It has successfully encouraged 230 girls to continue their educational journeys, transforming them into agents of change within their communities. This facet of the initiative also focused on vital areas such as menstrual health and hygiene education, fostering a supportive environment through the establishment of girls' clubs.

The collaboration's latest triumph is the inauguration of a school in rural Madagascar, a region where the stark realities of poverty and educational neglect are prominent. Here, 75% of the population lives below the poverty line, and a mere 40% of children complete primary education. The choice of Ampandrivotse as the school site, considering its remote and coastal nature, underlines the partnership's dedication to reaching the underserved. The establishment of the UWS Ampandrivotse School not only marks a significant milestone in Madagascar but also represents a new chapter in UWS's global mission, showcasing the profound impact of persistent and compassionate efforts.

"At Tropic, we believe education should be a right, not a privilege. Yet, 65 million primary-aged children worldwide are out of school. It's time for change. In unison with UWS, we’re giving young people the opportunity to create their own brighter, more secure futures – and can't wait to give the gift of education to even more children around the world" shares Susie Ma, CEO and founder of Tropic.

Olivia Zane, Head of Global Strategic Partnerships at UWS, echoes this sentiment, highlighting the partnership's role in laying a strong foundation for the expansion of educational programs in Madagascar “Tropic's partnership with UWS in Madagascar has enabled us to build a strong foundation for expanding our programs across Madagascar - and a new continent for UWS' work. UWS Ampandrivotse School was one of the first school's to open in Madagascar, and it is a testament to what we can achieve".

Tropic Skincare's dedication to social responsibility is further emphasized by its pledge to donate 10% of all profits to charitable causes. This commitment extends beyond UWS, supporting local initiatives such as the Prince's Trust Women Supporting Women initiative. These actions are integral to Tropic's Infinite Purpose: fostering a world that is not only healthier and greener but profoundly empowered.
