Dermalogica Launches Aspire Award Offering Free Workshops for Apprentices and Students
Due to launch in April 2021, Dermalogica has accelerated the industry-wide launch of its Aspire Award to support undergraduate apprentice therapists whose training and career progression has been halted due to COVID-19.
In line with National Apprenticeship Week's theme, Building the Future, Dermalogica has taken swift action to open their popular undergraduate programme to apprentices and students not studying with a Dermalogica Partnership College, to provide enriching education opportunities. As a company steeped in education and committed to skills-based training, Dermalogica recognizes the importance of keeping connected with skills and strengthening knowledge even when you are not able to get hands-on due to lockdowns and restrictions.
With many employers needing to keep their apprentices engaged and moving forward, this programme of education which is usually reserved for Dermalogica Partner Colleges provides valuable industry-relevant insights, best practice reinforcement and the chance to broaden skills.
What is the Dermalogica Partnership Programme?
Dermalogica's College Partnership Programme is a broad series of workshops, webinars, awards and schemes typically available to colleges partnering with Dermalogica as their professional skincare brand. Dermalogica has seen how challenging it has been for training providers, employers, apprentices and students to adapt and complete qualifications at this time, and wanted to provide a motivating and engaging reconnection to our fantastic industry to ensure that they continue their journey to becoming fully-fledged therapists. With the intention to make the full programme available to all Beauty Therapy students and apprentices later in the year, they have been spurred on to open up for National Apprenticeship Week and will continue to provide ongoing education to all undergraduates studying beauty therapy, advanced beauty therapy and related courses.
Candice Gardner - Education Manager for Dermalogica has shared “We are absolutely passionate about sharing real life best practice to build the skills of future industry professionals. With a sector that is constantly evolving, and at pace, it is essential that the most relevant knowledge and skills are accessible to enrich learning, strengthen competency and enhance employability. With unprecedented challenges in 2020 for students, apprentices, training providers and employers, Dermalogica is thrilled to be making our undergraduate programme accessible industry wide to all students and apprentices not just for now during the pandemic, but ongoing. We believe this can help bridge the gaps to current skill requirements, and boost motivation of learners to stay the course into an incredibly exciting and rewarding vocational career.”
