Lanserhof Sylt Health Resort to Open in Germany 2022

Lanserhof Group, the world’s leading medical destination, continues to grow its portfolio and will open a new health resort on the island of Sylt in northern Germany in 2022. The topping-out ceremony took place on 2 October 2020 and signifies a milestone in the build. Among those present were Lanserhof owner Dr. Christian Harisch, architect Christoph Ingenhoven and the future medical director of Lanserhof Sylt, Dr. Jan Stritzke.

The new development contributes to the Group’s expanding portfolio which currently includes Lanserhof Lans near Innsbruck in Austria; Lanserhof Tegernsee in Bavaria, Germany; LANS Medicum and LANS Cardio in Hamburg, Germany; and Lanserhof at The Arts Club in London, United Kingdom.

The island of Sylt provides Lanserhof with the perfect conditions to complement the renowned LANS Med Concept to guests. Located on the North Sea coast, Sylt boasts an extraordinary climate and is surrounded by an abundance of nature creating an idyllic setting in which to reset and recharge. Built on the northeast of the island in the municipality of List, Lanserhof Sylt covers 20,000 m2 and is complete with 67 guest rooms. A team of the world’s leading experts will provide extensive medical care for guests, as well as external visitors and residents of the island.

Built on the former military officers' home area of the List, the construction and design of Lanserhof Sylt is under the direction of internationally renowned Düsseldorf architect Christoph Ingenhoven. Located on one of the highest elevations on the islands, guests will discover a panoramic view of the harbour of List and the adjacent landscape conservation area, against the backdrop of the Wadden Sea.  A total of six buildings will be restored in close cooperation with the local monument protection authorities and honoured with the unmistakable Lanserhof design.

Lanserhof has been synonymous with vital medicine for over 30 years and its concept has made it a globally recognised medical institution which has received numerous awards in Europe. Under the medical management of Dr. Jan Stritzke, the former head of cardiology at the Asklepios North Sea Clinic Westerland, the range of services available at Lanserhof Sylt will include medical consultations and individual therapies, as well as CT and MRI scans; the only facility to offer these on the island. In addition to the naturopathic approach, Lanserhof Sylt will focus on cardiological rehabilitation.  A dedicated treatment facility will span 5,000 m2 completed with a spacious spa area featuring saunas, steam baths, relaxation area and indoor and outdoor pool with a sun terrace hidden in the dunes.
