Bramley Becomes a Certified B Corp, Highlighting Commitment to Sustainability

Bramley, renowned for its sustainable, botanical-inspired skincare, bath and body products, harnessing the power of nature, proudly announces its B Corp certification. Achieving B Corp status underscores Bramley’s longstanding dedication to environmental responsibility, social impact, and ethical business practices, setting it apart in the beauty industry and highlighting its ongoing commitment to sustainability.

“We are thrilled to announce that Bramley is now B Corp Certified with an impressive score of 96.4” says Chloë Luxton, Founder and Creative Director of Bramley. “This certification is a significant milestone, placing us among a select group of beauty brands committed to redefining industry standards in sustainability and social governance. It reflects our dedication to ethical and sustainable business practices and highlights our ongoing efforts to create a positive impact across all areas of operation”.

Bramley’s commitment to sustainable materials is evident with 79.55% of the brand’s ingredients, by volume, are derived from recycled, reused, or certified sustainable sources. The packaging initiatives further illustrate this dedication, with recyclable, reusable, and refillable options, including exclusive compostable refill pouches. These initiatives have enabled Bramley to eliminate over 28 tonnes of plastic waste to date, reinforcing its commitment to reducing their environmental impact.

Resource Reduction Achievements in 2023–2024

Bramley has successfully implemented strategies to reduce resource consumption:

  • Energy consumption decreased by 20.06%.

  • Water usage reduced by 7.35%.

  • Non-hazardous waste lowered by 5.47%.

  • Recycling efforts increased, with 7.10% more waste sent for recycling.

With sustainability at the forefront of every decision, Bramley sources locally wherever possible. In 2023, 55% of all purchases were made from suppliers located within 50 miles of the company’s headquarters, with 45% sourced from within a 30-mile radius. The emphasis on local procurement bolsters Bramley’s goal of sourcing 75% of materials locally by the summer of 2025, further reducing its carbon footprint and strengthening community connections.

Not only does Bramley respect the environment but also values its workforce. The company fosters inclusivity, with women holding 71.43% of managerial roles and 84.62% of non-managerial positions, demonstrating its commitment to gender representation and equality.

Beyond its dedication to sustainable sourcing, production, and workplace practices, Bramley allocates a proportion of its sales, as well as donating products, to charitable causes, aligning business growth with positive social impact.

Bramley’s new status as a certified B Corp reinforces its promise to uphold the values that have defined the brand since its inception: sustainability, transparency, respect for nature and people alike. “

This new milestone is both an achievement and a call to action as Bramley continues its journey towards even greater environmental and social impact, with our next steps already being taken to become fully carbon neutral” comments Chloë Luxton.
