Medik8 Becomes BCorp Certified

Proud distributors of Medik8, SkinBrands are pleased to announce that the premium British skincare brand has become B Corp certified, making it 1 of only 66 beauty manufacturers in the 8000-strong B Corp community worldwide to be recognised as a certified B Corporation. As a business that has always placed sustainability at the core of every decision, this is a pivotal milestone for Medik8.

B Corporations (B Corps) are companies that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. B Corps are also legally committed to bring benefit, not just to shareholders, but to all business stakeholders - that means workers, customers, communities, and the environment.

The B Corp certification addresses the entirety of a business’ operations and covers five key impact areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers. The certification process is rigorous, with applicants required to reach a benchmark score of over 80 while providing evidence of socially and environmentally responsible practices relating to energy supplies, waste and water use, worker compensation, diversity and corporate transparency. Following an eight-month application process, Medik8 obtained certification with a score of 89.9 points.
