Sunday Times Unveils First-Ever Beauty Rich List

For the first time, The Sunday Times has shone a spotlight on the biggest players behind Britain’s booming beauty industry, revealing the top 30 wealthiest individuals shaping the £27 billion sector. From heritage names to social media-fuelled upstarts, the inaugural Beauty Rich List charts a new era of glamour, grit, and growth.

At the top sits Charlotte Tilbury, the British make-up artist-turned-global mogul, whose eponymous brand has helped amass an estimated fortune of £350 million. Hot on her heels are Lush founders Mark and Mo Constantine (£249 million), and fragrance tycoon Sanjay Vadera of The Fragrance Shop (£245 million).

What stands out most is the diversity and youth of the list: 19 of the 33 individuals featured are women, with nearly half in their twenties or thirties. From P Louise founder Paige Williams (£100m), who began her journey with a £20,000 loan from her gran, to Plantmade’s Ama Amo-Agyei (£10m), who launched her haircare line during the pandemic with just £100, these stories reflect the modern face of entrepreneurship—one where TikTok, tenacity, and purpose drive brand success.

Other standout names include Trinny Woodall (£54m), Susie Ma of Tropic Skincare (£73m), and Tatti Lashes founders Elliot Barton and Charlotte Tiplady (£32m each), whose products have adorned everyone from Ariana Grande to Nicki Minaj.

Legacy figures such as haircare legend John Frieda (£150m) and ESPA’s Susan Harmsworth (£50m) appear alongside fast-growing brands like Refy, Vieve, Wild, and The Inkey List, proving there’s room for heritage and disruption alike.
