All Facial Treatments Will Be Permitted From 1st August in England
On the 13th July, the Coronavirus downing street briefing stated that beauticians tattooists, spas and tanning salons would open from the 13th of July, this update was subject to a restriction on particularly high-risk services, in that all facial treatments were to be prohibited, this included:
Face waxing, sugaring or threading services,
Facial treatments,
Advanced facial technical (electrical or mechanical)
Eyelash treatments
Make up application
Dermarolling
Dermaplaning
Microblading
Electrolysis on the face
Eyebrow treatments
The latest government announcement during the daily press conference on the 17th July has seen the Prime Minister encourage staff and employees to go back to work by opening the remaining sectors of the economy from the 1st of August in England.
This means that beauty professionals will be allowed to provide all close contact services - meaning facial treatments will be permitted again. No restrictions have been announced at the time of writing but it is understood that enhanced safety measures are to be followed by adhering to the close contact government guidance.
