England and Wales Welcome New Luxury Sleeper Train with Onboard Spa in 2025
Belmond, renowned for its luxury travel experiences, has announced the launch of the Britannic Explorer, the first luxury sleeper train to operate across England and Wales. Set to commence journeys in July 2025, the train will offer three-night itineraries departing from London, traversing regions such as Cornwall, the Lake District, and Wales.
The Britannic Explorer will comprise 18 cabins, including three Grand Suites, all designed by London-based studio Albion Nord. The interiors will feature a nature-inspired colour palette and heritage details, aiming to provide an elegant and comfortable environment for passengers.
Onboard amenities will include a botanic-themed bar, a wellness suite, and restaurant cars. The dining experience will be curated by Michelin-starred chef Simon Rogan, known for his farm-to-fork ethos and use of local ingredients. Each route will offer dedicated menus inspired by the regions the train traverses.
Passengers can choose from four routes departing from London, exploring destinations such as Cornwall, the Lake District, Northumberland, and Wales. Each journey will span three to six nights, with options to combine routes for a more extensive experience.
Off-train excursions will include private tours, guided hikes, wild swimming, and visits to cultural sites, providing passengers with immersive experiences in each region.
Prices for a three-night journey on the Britannic Explorer start from £11,000 per passenger, inclusive of excursions, meals, wine, and other beverages onboard. Bookings are expected to open in the coming months, with the inaugural journey scheduled for July 2025.
