NeoGen Plasma: The Non-Invasive, Clinically Proven Skin Treatment Device of the Future
Savvy beauty salon clients have in recent years been showing a preference for non-invasive skin treatments which offer maximum results but with minimal recovery. Our need for instant gratification extends to beauty treatments where clients want to see a quick fix to deep rotted issues as a testament of the success of a treatment. And as our editor found out, instant results are possible beyond a quick fix, with NeoGen Plasma which provides immediate, long lasting and extraordinary results.
Our editor visited Eden Skin Clinic in Kensington to experience the magic behind NeoGen Spa, founded and provided by Energist, this machine provides nitrogen plasma solutions to the global medical aesthetics market.
NeoGen Plasma, a nitrogen gas-derived thermal plasma, is very different to traditional skin technologies available on the market, as it simultaneously tightens, regenerates and resurfaces the whole skin architecture without puncturing or vapourising the skin’s surface. Due to medical grade technology, there is still downtime to the treatment (i.e. keeping skin dry for 24 hours after the treatment or flaking after the treatment can be expected), but the downtime is minimal compared to other treatments proving similar results.
The unique properties of nitrogen plasma in the NeoGen machines enable high temperatures to be delivered as deep as the reticular dermis at high energy, leading to long-term regeneration and remodelling of collagen and elastin, that will continue to improve for up to 12 months and last for years. Perfect for clinics, spas, medi-spas and aestheticians, NeoGen Plasma offers a unique and effective process of skin regeneration that stimulates a natural response in the form of an epidermal resurfacing process within days of having the treatment, and revealing the new epidermis, perfect for a full spectrum of skin types, including darker skin. Skin types between 1-3 can be treated with higher energy as there is less chance of altering the pigmentation of the skin and causing it to change colour. Skin types between 4-6 must be treated on lower energy settings as there is more melanin in the skin which could cause discolouration when treated.
NeoGen Plasma’s versatility of energy levels allowed for tailored treatments to meet the exact needs of the client. Lower energy treatments are suitable and beneficial for everyone regardless of age or skin colour and will improve the skin’s regenerative function, providing a truly natural approach to maintaining dermal health. Higher energy treatments achieve the same results as a CO2 ablative treatment but with half the recovery time and significantly less complications due to the skin remaining intact and acting as a natural biological barrier.
NeoGen Plasma can treat:
Eyelid Lift
Acne
Pore Size Reduction
Scar Revision
Stretch Marks
Sun Damage
Facial Wrinkles
Skin Rejuvenation
Skin Tightening
Benign Pigmented Lesions
Non-Facial Wrinkles
Our editor visited Eden Skin Clinic with a focus on addressing active acne, actively preparing her skin for the treatment prior. Preparations included avoiding excessive sun, moisturising regularly and drinking 2 liters of water per day to ensure the skin had healthy levels of hydration.
The treatment itself is not painful albeit it can be uncomfortable as the machine (crudely speaking) zaps the skin. The heat directed onto the skins surface causes a thermal disruption to the structure of the skin and penetrates deep into the skin until it reaches the dermis. Immediately after the first treatment, our editor experienced redness followed by a feeling of tightening across the face - the feeling is best described as a warm sensation on the skin that feels very similar to having been out in the sun.
The aftercare, despite the peeling and the contraindications for the first 24 hours is surprisingly easy, the usual hygiene elements apply, as well as no picking as this could lead to scarring or exfoliating as the outer layer of the skin flakes or peels (depending on the treatment you have which in turn depends on the skin concern you are treating). Other than these after effects, there is minimal downtime and the treatment can be performed as quickly as during a lunch break for a return to work afterwards.
Only two treatments in and our editor saw a significant reduction in active acne as a result of Neogen Plasma. The results of the NeoGen treatment are long lasting and improvements can continue to develop for up to 12 months.
