Wella Company MD Max Amen to Join Global Advisory Council Mission 2029

The Wella Company cements its positioning as a responsible, forward thinking employer that champions female leadership in the workplace following the news that Max Amen, Wella UK&I Managing Director, has been nominated by the House of Rose Professional to be part of the Global Advisory Council Mission 2029 and as a 2024 Break the ceiling touch the sky Male Champion for Gender Equality.

The House of Rose Professional MISSION 2029 has formed a group of exclusive group of Global Executives who are gender diversity champions, to which Max will be part of. 

This exclusive  global advisory council will help enable the strategy and actions to meet the MISSION 2029 goals of quintupling the number of female CEOs in the Top 500 Global Companies (from 14 in 2020 to 70 in 2029), and doubling the number of Male CEOs who actively support and lead on diversity & inclusion within their organisations. 

In support of House of Rose Professional’s  Mission 2029 for a Better World, the House of Rose Professional reveals the 2024 Break the ceiling touch the sky Male Champions for Gender Equality list, which Max has been added to. A list which over 6500 male executives were reviewed globally from over 800 Companies.  The list is focused almost entirely on the corporate world and recognises factors such as active and visible advocacy for gender equality; commitment to advancing women in leadership in their own organisations; supporting women to learn externally from other best in class organisations; and 

investment in gender diversity and inclusion programming. Personal role-modelling for gender equality was used as the baseline factor.

With a female CEO, Annie Young-Scrivner, at the helm of the Wella Company, and a strong female leadership team, Wella UK&I is on a mission to lead the way in gender diversity. It is on a journey to close the gender pay gap and recognise the tools needed to keep great female talent thriving in the workforce. Alongside fertility, menopause and pregnancy loss policies, the company is recognised globally for its collaborations with organisations such as Hertility Health and Work Baby Life, which have now given Wella a ‘reproductively responsible employer’ accreditation.

Wella UK&I provides women with meaningful promotion and career development opportunities, particularly into senior management and leadership positions. Identifying female talent and providing mentorship for the new wave of future CEOs.

Wella UK&I has a strong female talent pipeline and provide women with meaningful promotion and career development opportunities, particularly into senior management and leadership positions. In the previous financial year alone, just under 25% of females in the UK&I business were either promoted or took on a new or enlarged role scope. As a business, identifying female talent and providing mentorship for the new wave of future CEOs is high on its agenda. This was evident in the last financial year whereby 45% of internal UK&I vacancies were filled by internal female talents.
